Vincenza Ottaviano (nee DeBellis) 88,of Sandy Hook, CT, born in Italy on September 4, 1933 departed this life on October 8, 2021.
From many who have known her, she was described as a diligent, energetic and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Many have expressed their love and admiration for her, some in just a short time of knowing her.
After surviving the loss of her mother during a WWII bombing at the age of 9, Vincenza married and migrated to the United States. She was a homemaker, cleaning woman, seamstress and did whatever job was necessary to help move her family forward. She happily took on her work with the thought of providing for her family and keeping them safe from the struggles she faced through her early life. She had often expressed the desire to reunite with her Mother who was taken from her so young. With that experience she tried to instill the meaning of love of family and hard work to her children as best as she could, most often by example.
She now joins her beloved husband Gregorio who predeceased her and leaves many cherished memories with her son Luigi Ottaviano, daughters Anna Fata (John), Agnese Versaci and Lina Ottaviano as well as four Grandchildren Vincenzo Fata (wife Nicole), Gregorio Fata (wife Marissa), John Fata and Anna Ottaviano. She is also survived by her cherished Great Grandchildren: Troy Otto, Vincenzo Antonio, Aurora Rose and Francesca Rosa. She is also survived by her brother Nicola DeBellis.
