Bronxville – Theresa Calcagni, a long-time resident of the Bronxville area, died Thursday the 10th of December at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in 1931 in Yonkers, New York to Joseph and Margaret Yatsko, she was embraced in love by her elder siblings Rose and Margaret. Her younger brothers, Joseph, and John would follow shortly thereafter. Theresa loved her family so completely and welcomed many nieces and nephews throughout her years.
Theresa worked at F.W. Woolworth Company for many years until she became a full-time babysitter in the comfort of her own home.
The focal point of her life was caring for her daughter, Donna Marie Calcagni Cody. Their bond was immeasurable. They were both mother and daughter as well as best friends. She welcomed son in law, James Joseph Cody and his daughter, Elizabeth Jean Cody, into her heart embracing them both so completely.
Ever the lotto enthusiast, Terry also loved watching Hallmark movies, going out to dinner, laughing, and celebrating all that life had to offer. In her later years, she would spend much time with her daughter’s family and watching their beloved poodles.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Rose Yatsko and Margaret Yatsko Cuniff. Terry is survived by her brothers Joseph and John Yatsko, her daughter and husband Donna and Jim Cody, granddaughter, Elizabeth Jean Cody, and by all who loved her.
Theresa is being laid to rest on December 18, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A memorial celebration will follow in the Spring when friends and family can safely socially distance, date, and time to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Terry’s honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, https://www.pancan.org/ways-to-give/.
