Richard D Schwartz Sr
We are overwhelmingly saddened to announce the passing of Richard D Schwartz Sr (77) of Holmdel, New Jersey on October 22, 2022. Richard is survived by his wife Linda of 52 years. He is also survived by his son Richard Jr and his wife Casey and their children Bella and Jake, his daughter Stacy, and his youngest son Craig, his wife Rachel, and their children Paul, and Samuel. Richard is predeceased by his beloved son Stephen.
Richard was born in New Rochelle, New York to August and Alice Schwartz on December 5, 1944. He attended Blessed Sacrament school and later earned his bachelor’s and MBA degrees at Iona College. Richard served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He had an extraordinary career as a business executive that spanned four decades. Throughout his career, Richard was committed to a servant leadership style that was founded on helping others live to their highest potential.
Richard was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Jets. He loved to play golf and enjoyed watching sports in person and on TV. One of his favorite activities was relaxing in the pool. He loved to tell stories and give advice. He was a well-known connoisseur of zeppole, funnel cake, and doughnuts. He was a dedicated brother-in-law, uncle, and a cherished friend to many.
His best days were those spent with his family and his beautiful grandchildren. Bella, Jake, Paul, and Sam filled their Pop Pop’s heart with joy. He faithfully devoted every moment to hearing about their daily adventures and achievements. He is dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
In lieu of masses, mass cards, and flowers, a donation in Richard’s memory may be sent to St Jude’s Children Research Hospital or The Society of St Vincent de Paul St Catharine in Holmdel 108 Middletown Rd Holmdel NJ 07733.
