Obituary
On Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, Jerome Bessen passed away at age 90, 13 days shy of his 91st birthday. Jerry was born to the late Jacob and Katie Bessen in the Bronx, New York on January 31st, 1932. He is survived by his children, nieces, and nephews: Ted, Donna Bruce, Allison, Eric, and Wendy; 13 Grandchildren; and 9 Great-grandchildren. He proudly raised this large family with his late wife Elaine Bessen. For 63 beautiful years, Elaine and Jerry filled their everlasting marriage with trips across the world and spending every moment possible with their large and loving family. Jerry proudly served in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Corporal. Affectionately known as "Grandpa", "Great Grandpa", "Pa", and "Yummy", he will be greatly missed and remembered for his warm laughter, quick-witted humor, and comforting hugs. Interment will take place at Wellwood Cemetery, West Babylon, NY. In lieu of flowers, consider commemorating Jerry's life with a donation to an organization close to your heart.
