We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Hawthorne Funeral Home
Dolores Pizzolanella Malizio, age 88, of Mohegan Lake, N.Y. and formerly of Thornwood, N.Y. loving mother of six, and adoring wife to husband Philip, passed away in the early evening of September the 4th. Dolores was born in 1934 in Bronx, New York and grew up surrounded by her large family of four sisters Phyllis Egan (deceased), Norma Cody (deceased), Vivian Gagliano (deceased), Celeste Palumbo. Dolores was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving of her time to others, and she incorporated that into her motherhood. She met her husband Philip in 1953 at a neighborhood dance and they fell in love knowing they both shared a love for family and decided to start their own.
As a mother she was generous, loving, and kind. Dolores experienced the treasures of becoming a grandmother and eventually a great-grandmother which overjoyed her that her family was growing even more robust. Dolores had six loving children, Phyllis Joyce, Lorriane McGrath (deceased), Maria D’onghia, Celeste Bellantoni, Claire Aversa and Phillip Malizio. Dolores had nine grandchildren Dianna Massi, Giovanni D’onghia, Joseph McGrath, Michael D’onghia, Jonah Bellantoni, Anthony Aversa, Juliana Aversa, Ryan Malizio and Alloura Malizio. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Isabella, Noah and Luna Jane Massi. In her free time, she would gather with neighborhood friends and loved to stay active and socialize. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
We know God is pleased to have one of His kind and generous angels back in his arms. She will be sorely missed by the lives she has touched. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.
