Bruce McLee

May 31, 1940 ~ September 6, 2020 (age 80)


 Bruce McLee (POP) passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2020. He was 80 years old. Born in Valhalla, NY to the late Archibald and Hilda McLee, he grew up in Elmsford, New York and moved to Columbia, South Carolina in September 2013. Bruce was a retired Senior Foreman for Con Edison subcontractor tree companies for over 50 years. He was a member of the Utilities Workers of America Union, Local 1 & 2.

    He is survived by his wife Barbara; their four children, April Diata of Beaufort, SC, Grace Valentine of Ossining, NY, Hilda (Hassie) Norris of Columbia, SC and Archie (Jay) McLee of Salisbury Mills, NY; ten grandchildren, Timothy McLee of New Rochelle, NY, Taylor, Tateum and Trent Valentine of Ossining, NY, Jaylin Owens and Joshua Norris of Columbia, SC, Bruce, Justin, Brent McLee of Salisbury Mills, NY; Jessica McLee Tanner of Frisco, Texas; six great-grandchildren; one remaining sibling, Edna McLee; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Hilda Riebeling and Beverly Johnson; two brothers, Archie McLee and Frederick McLee.

    Due to the current pandemic, a private ceremony will take place at the graveside located at the Kensico Cemetery Valhalla, N.Y. with his children, their spouses and their children only.

    In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations and/or gifts be sent via cash app to $BarbaraMclee or by mail to Hilda H. Norris, 70 Fieldrush Court Columbia, SC 29229. These will be used towards the cost of the burial including transporting Bruce to New York. Finally, any remaining donations and/or gifts will go to a foundation of the family’s choice.
