Elizabeth Carlson recently passed away after a lengthy illness at the Suites at Station Exchange Senior Care in Richmond Hill, Georgia where she resided since 2012. She was 87 years old. Elizabeth was raised in Chappaqua, N.Y., graduating from Horace Greely High School. After graduation, she became an accountant in the mortgage department at The Northern Westchester National Bank of Chappaqua. She married the love of her life Harry E. Carlson Jr in 1957 (who predeceased her in 2017). In 1959 Elizabeth & Harry built their first & only home in Hawthorne N.Y., remaining there until 2012. Elizabeth paused her career to raise three children and returned to work in1973 at the Kensico Cemetery as the Assistant Secretary of Treasury. While at Kensico, she made many lifelong friends. One of her stipulations when returning to work was she would put her children on the bus and be home for them when they returned – She never missed a day! Elizabeth retired in 1997.
